Buddy Amaral, a hotshot ad exec, gives his airplane ticket to a father hurrying to get home for the holidays. The airplane crashes that night, and guilt-ridden Buddy turns to alcohol. After going through rehab, he decides to look up the widow of the father, but after falling in love with her, he debates telling her exactly who he is.
