In the story "Rotten apples", Tom loved his fruit trees, especially his apple trees when they were a color festival in the spring. He loved apples and he would eat two every day. Until one day, he feels very tired and he sees roots growing instead of fingernails. His joints start to become rigid. In the story "In the maggot's mouth", a shylock from the eighteenth century counts his money every night ... And many, many more.
